I reached out to Sarah after completing my first marathon in October 2022, one year after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer. As a survivor, I run to live each day with joy and celebrate life with family and friends by showing up as my best self. To help raise awareness, I run for the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition as a member of Team Teal. Since I learned a lot from running on my own (some good and some bad), I knew I could learn more with a coach to be better prepared for my second marathon. I was drawn to Sarah’s philosophy and admire her grit and determination to tackle challenges with a smile. I needed this to help me prepare for this hilly course! Not only has she helped me train smarter and avoid injury, she has also helped me overcome many of my fears along the way and encouraged me to try out my first trail half marathon (shout out to Mo Spring Half finishers!). Sarah offers realistic feedback and customizes your training to your needs, supporting you whatever your goals may be with expert advice and a solid game plan. Knowing that she reads every workout comment and is super responsive, demonstrating genuine interest in my training and how I am feeling, all helps me push to be my best. Whenever something is starting to act up, she immediately recommends meaningful exercises or insists on a rest. That’s the kind of coach I needed! And the community she has created keeps me accountable and celebrates every small accomplishment as we grow together. In October 2022, I decided to look for a run coach after 6 months of on-and-off injuries of varying degrees. My body and mind was finally able to get back in to running consistently and I went too hard and too fast for every run. When I got a lottery entrance in to the Big Sur International Marathon, I knew I needed more than just cobbling together training plans from different sources that might not even work for my body/lifestyle/experience needed.
That is where I found Sarah as a running coach and it completely changed how I approach training – in a really great way! She has helped me become a more patience and focused runner all while cheering me on and providing motivation when I need it. I have been injury-free since I started working with her, which tells me she knows exactly what I need!

I’ve been working with Sarah since August 2021 when she came in at the tail end of training for my first ultra. She was able to provide advice from the very start and has been great to work with ever since. I’ve dealt with some highs and some lows, especially last spring with pes anserine tendinitis shutting me down heading into peak HM training. Her approach and willingness to listen to me and adapt the training on the fly helped me build back up and be prepared for another ultra attempt in the fall. I have only been running for two years now, been with Sarah for over a year now. When I started with Sarah I had only been running for about 4 months and I had signed up for my first half marathon. I had no clue about running much less how to run a half. I thought you just put on shoes and went out and ran.
Sarah was so incredibly encouraging right from the beginning! She believed in me on days I didn’t. That’s one of the things I love most about her as a coach! I can’t tell you how many times during a race or a training run I would call or text her, she would be right there helping me get through it. She is the first person I call when I finish a race to share in my achievement! With out her I wouldn’t be were I am today!
Sarah always has a plan on how to prepare for what every running adventure, from running half marathons, trails races to endurance races or just to improve your running. She is very knowledgeable and passionate about her runners. She teaches how to increase mileage, which running drills to do, how to fuel your body during a race or just in a average day, she has stretches planned out, different types of exercises as well. Her first question after a run is “how do you feel” if something is going on she address it right away.
Sarah is truly an amazing coach! She is relatable, encouraging, knowledgeable, realistic and passionate about running and her runners!
Not only is she an awesome coach but an amazing runner as well. Watching her running journey is also very inspiring. I am exited to see were 2023 is going to take her and I on our running adventures!

Sarah is a ROCK star coach. I have never had a coach before, but as a middle age woman wanting to run an ultra, I found her bio to resonate. First, she is an exceptional communicator. While I didn’t expect it, she comments and we email several times a week (she mostly prompts this-not me!). Second, as a middle age beginner runner, I seem to have a lot of aches of pains as my mileage ramps up and Sarah is always tweaking and acknowledging this issue. She doesn’t diminish or ask that I push through it–she gives me tailored exercises and tweaks my plan to accommodate my healing and strength training. Third, she is a role model and runs many types of ultras and so knowing that she is also training and going through the ups/downs is inspiring. I can’t say enough how helpful it is to have a coach and someone to be both accountable to–and someone who supports me (who has a wealth of experience). We have discussed training plans, strength training, shoe and equipment recommendations. It’s such a wonderful investment in my health, wellness and motivates me to push myself. Sarah has been a great running coach for me and I have really enjoyed working with her for the past two months. This is my first experience working with a run coach, but I have worked with personal trainers and athletic trainers in the past. Sarah is personable and friendly, and checks in on my workouts daily. She provides specific feedback and tailors my training plan according to my performance, needs and the information I provide her. I specifically chose Sarah because we live in the same city, and am happy to have gotten to meet her in person. She is just as pleasant in person, and it is rewarding to meet the human behind the comments on the app.
Even though I have been running a long time, I have noticed that I feel better and my pace has improved with her training plan.

I have never had a pure running coach in the eleven years that I have been racing both mountain bikes and ultra trail events. I quite literally broke myself November of 2020 and had been on this up and down roller coaster of feeling better and then re-injuring myself. It was beyond frustrating. I got wind of Team RunRun, spoke with Sarah on the phone, and decided to sign up with her as my coach.
The experience has been just awesome. Sarah is kind, encouraging, compassionate and super communicative!! When I am in the dumps, she lifts me up. When I am firing on all cylinders, she is right there cheering me on. Even when I am working hard at cycling she is right there helping me along the way. The strength training has been quite a refreshing change and continues to challenge me.
The best things for me is that I am finally getting back to running, after months and months of non-stop niggles, aches, pains and set backs. Her approach, weekly plans, and continued guidance are helping me get back to my passion of running.

Wow. The previous comments pretty much say it all about Sarah and how amazing she is. I started with Sarah a few months back to get back into training after an ankle injury. One of the reasons I picked Sarah as my coach was because of her communication style and how much she cares. When it came to building my base miles and getting back into running, Sarah was so flexible and understanding when it came to my schedule and how I like to train. Excitingly enough, I was selected to run in the 2022 Boston Marathon and I cannot wait to continue my training with Sarah! I have been running for years in a haphazard way and decided to do a half last year. After that I wanted to try to run longer distances but was having trouble so it seemed a coach was a good idea. Not knowing anything about running really in any technical kind of way, I interviewed a couple of potential coaches on the phone before picking one. When I spoke to Sarah I knew she was who I wanted to work with. She was so enthusiastic, encouraging and fun to talk to that I felt like it would be a great fit for me and I was right!
She has devised a plan that is working for me, I have increased my mileage and my endurance a lot in the 2 and a half months we have worked together. Last week I ran 22 miles and I’m working on a 50K for the next goal. I am 64 and I never thought I would be saying that!
Sarah always gets back to me nearly right away with comments about my runs, and gets back to me super quick with questions or concerns I have. I appreciate her availability!
She has been knowledgeable about anything I have asked, from gear, to nutrition, to injury prevention and some minor injuries and shoe fit issues I’ve had. There has not been anything I have asked that she has not been able to help with.
Most of all she has been flexible with my plan, as my work schedule is pretty inconsistent, and have a kid and 3 dogs! She has found ways and times for me to work my dogs into my runs as well, so I dont have to do double duty in going for runs and then taking the pups out again afterwards!
I am really happy with her as my coach and could not have gotten even this far without her. I’m looking forward to working on building my mileage and my goals with Sarah!
